 Multi-Stage Conveyor Dryer/Cooler

A single machine incorporating separate drying conveyors with gentle product turnover for varying loadings and drying times, multiple air direction reversals, together with multiple temperature and humidity control zones, assure the most uniformly dried products in the minimum floor space.

 Feature List

Multiple air reversals create ideal conditions for complete uniformity in the final dried product.
A highly efficient air circulation system is used to recirculate heated air up or down through the material being dried.
Turbine-type fans are specially designed for minimum power consumption and highly efficient insulation is supplied to minimize heat loss and conserve energy.
Recirculating air volume may be easily controlled by adjusting the unique volume control discs supplied.
The volume control discs reduce power requirements when reduced air volumes are being used.
Most of the drying air is recirculated to conserve energy while the correct amount is exhausted after passing through the product to remove the evaporated water.
Heat recovery systems are available to utilize exhausted heat and either return it to the dryer or for use in providing heat for other equipment.
Multi-zone temperature controls provide the ability to lower air temperatures as the product dries. This prevents overheating and case hardening of the product and therefore helps to maintain product quality.
Carefully engineered transfer zones minimize sticking, agglomeration and product breakage.
A transfer zone, located immediately prior to the point of sticking or caking of products may eliminate or minimize these problems. The product turnover results in accelerated or more uniform drying in many cases thereby reducing equipment size and cost.
Additionally, during the drying of many products with high initial water contents, shrinkage occurs after partial drying even though the conveyor is full entering the dryer. When this shrinkage occurs, the drying air bypasses the product being dried and capacities are reduced. By reloading deeper, through the use of slower moving conveyors, this shrinkage problem is overcome resulting in shorter length dryers and increased capacity.
Transfer zones offer a unique and economical solution to the problems of different drying rates for different products. Each stage of the dryer is designed to perform a given function such as controlling drying rates, temperature or moisture equilibration, shrinkage, etc.
